Nursing In Arkansas

Nursing Workforce Development Programs received funding December 16, 2009 when President Obama signed the FY2010 omnibus appropriations bill into law. Nursing education and research will benefit from this increase in funding level. Read details at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

Teaching In Arkansas
The Arkansas Department of Education recently announced the 2010 Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Vandy Nash, a fourth grade teacher at Indian Hills Elementary School in North Little Rock, will be representing Arkansas in the 2010 National Teacher of the Year competition. The announcement was made during a live televised KTHV broadcast. Governor Mike Beebe and Education Commissioner Dr. Tom W. Kimbrell presented Ms. Nash with her award. In addition to the award, Ms. Nash will receive a $15,000 cash award and will be the in-residence teacher at the Arkansas Department of Education for 2010-2011.
